On this episode of If They Only Had a Byrna, a man is attacked in his car after a road rage incident quickly escalates. In this video, taken by the vehicle’s passenger, heavy traffic on a one-lane road appears to cause tempers to flare, prompting another driver to approach the vehicle. Due to the traffic, the driver was trapped and unable to drive away.
The suspect then approached the driver’s window, began yelling at the occupants, and ultimately struck the driver twice. If they only had a Byrna… The driver of this car could have used kinetic rounds, followed by Byrna Max rounds in the same magazine—first to force the assailant to back away from the window, and then to incapacitate him, allowing time for the traffic to clear and for the driver to escape.
While the driver could have taken other precautions to protect himself—such as not rolling down the window—a Byrna launcher would have provided him with an effective—and, most importantly, legal—means to prevent the situation from escalating further.
