Frequently Asked Questions
Is this magazine compatible with both CL and CL-XL launchers?
Yes, the 7-round magazine is fully compatible with both the Byrna CL and Byrna CL-XL launchers. It works seamlessly with both 8g CO2 (CL) and 12g CO2 (CL-XL) configurations.
What is the difference between 7-round and 5-round magazines?
The 7-round magazine holds 2 additional projectiles compared to the standard 5-round magazine, increasing your capacity from 5+1 to 7+1 rounds. This provides 40% more shots before reloading.
What projectiles work with this magazine?
This magazine accepts all Byrna .61 caliber projectiles including Kinetic (solid), Pepper, Eco-Kinetic, and Max projectiles. It is designed specifically for .61 caliber rounds used in the CL series.
How many magazines should I have?
We recommend having at least 2-3 magazines for optimal preparedness. Pre-loaded spare magazines allow for quick tactical reloads without fumbling with individual projectiles during critical moments.
Is this magazine easy to load?
Yes, the magazine features an intuitive design that makes loading straightforward. Simply press each .61 caliber projectile into the magazine until you hear a click, confirming it's seated properly.
Does this magazine come with projectiles?
No, this is the magazine only. Projectiles are sold separately. You can purchase Byrna .61 caliber Kinetic, Pepper, or other projectile types to load into your magazine.
Will this work with the original Byrna HD or SD launchers?
No, this magazine is designed specifically for the Byrna CL and CL-XL compact launchers which use .61 caliber projectiles. The HD and SD series use .68 caliber and require different magazines.
How do I maintain my magazine?
Keep the magazine clean and free of debris. Periodically inspect the spring and follower for wear. Store magazines unloaded when not in use to preserve spring tension over time.
